Rupert Penry-Jones
Rupert Penry-Jones (born September 22, 1970 in London , England ) is a British actor . His parents Angela Thorne and Peter Penry-Jones as well as his brother Laurence Penry-Jones are also actors.
life and career
Rupert Penry-Jones attended Bristol Old Vic and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company . Penry-Jones received the Ian Charleson Award for his role as Don Carlos . In 1994 he made his debut in front of the camera with Rutger Hauer and Miranda Richardson in Vaterland . With his mother Angela Thorne , Penry-Jones starred in the 1995 television film Cold Comfort Farm .
In the following years he appeared in various television productions. In 2001, Penry-Jones starred opposite Cate Blanchett in the melodrama The Love of Charlotte Gray and in 2002 with Heath Ledger in the historical drama The Four Feathers . From 2004 to 2008 he played the agent Adam Carter in the British television series Spooks - In the sights of MI5 . In 2005, Penry-Jones appeared in Woody Allen's film Match Point . In 2007 she appeared in the film Jane Austen's Persuasion
Since 2009 he has appeared in the Whitechapel crime series as Detective Inspector Joseph Chandler and since 2011 as Clive Reader in the drama series Silk .
Rupert Penry-Jones is privately married to Irish actress Dervla Kirwan , with whom he has two children.
