Daniel Cudmore (born January 20, 1981 in Vancouver ) is a Canadian actor and stuntman . His biggest role to date has been that of Colossus in the X-Men film franchise . Daniel Cudmore is 2.03 m tall.

Life

Cudmore was born in Vancouver to Sue Bailey and the doctor Richard Cudmore, but grew up in Squamish . He attended Gannon University and was a member of the football team there for 2 years . His brothers Jamie and Luke are rugby union players .

Career

He got his first film role in 2003 as Colossus in Bryan Singer's comic adaptation X-Men 2 . In it, Cudmore plays a mutant with the ability to transform his body tissue into an organic, steel-like substance. He also took on the same role in the sequel X-Men: The Last Stand . In 2004 he auditioned for the title role in Superman Returns , but lost the role to Brandon Routh . From 2009 to 2012, Cudmore played the recurring role of the vampire Felix in New Moon - Bite at Noon , Eclipse - Bite to the Sunset, and Breaking Dawn - Bite to the End of the Night, Part 1 and Breaking Dawn - Bite to the End of the Night, Part 2 .

In 2014 he was in X-Men: The Future Is Past again as Mutant Colossus. He was offered the same role by director Tim Miller for the 2016 film adaptation of Deadpool . Cudmore declined, however, because, unlike in the previous X-Men films, his role should only be shown in motion capture .
