Giovanni Ambrogio Bevilacqua , also il Liberale , or Liberale Milanese (verifiable from 1474 to 1516 in Milan ), was an Italian painter.

Giovanni Ambrogio Bevilacqua is one of the representatives of the early Lombard painting school and worked mainly in Milan and the surrounding area. Presumably he was a student of Vincenzo Foppa , but was also influenced by Bernardino Butinone and Ambrogio da Fossano . In all of his works, Bevilacqua stuck to a somewhat antiquated formal language characterized by deeply religious feelings.
