Darchan Satybaldy

Darkhan Amangeldiuly Satybaldy ( Kazakh Дархан Амангелдіұлы Сатыбалды , Russian Дархан Амангельдиевич Сатыбалды * 26. March 1974 in Abai, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh diplomat and politician. He has been the Kazakh ambassador to Uzbekistan since March 2019 .

Life

Darchan Satybaldy was born in 1974 in the village of Abai in Saryaghash County in southern Kazakhstan. In 1996 he graduated from the Agricultural University in Aqmola . In 2003 he received another degree from the Kazakh University of Humanitarian Law.

After graduating from college, he initially worked for the administration of the Keles district and a private company. From July 2000 he was a member of the Financial Control Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of Finance, and from 2002 to 2006 he worked in the budget planning and financial control department of the Department of Presidential Affairs. Between August and December 2006 he worked for the city administration of the Kazakh capital Astana. In 2007 he worked for a few months in the judicial administration at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan before moving to the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science, where he was Deputy Director of the Budget Department, Deputy Director of the Finance Department and Deputy Chairman of the Science Committee. In February 2010 he started working as a department head for the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan. As of July 2011, Satybaldy was deputy head of the social and economic department of the Kazakh Prime Minister's office.

On May 27, 2013 he was appointed Äkim (Mayor) of the city of Shymkent . After about two years at the head of the city administration of Shymkent, he was dismissed from this post in August 2015 and instead appointed Deputy Äkim of South Kazakhstan on August 19 . He held this post until December 2017. Since October 9, 2018, Satybaldy has been a member of the Kazakh Senate .

He has been the Kazakh ambassador to Uzbekistan since March 18, 2019 .
