Qairat Moldasseitov

Qairat Qussejinuly Moldasseitow ( Kazakh Қайрат Құсейінұлы Молдасеитов , Russian Кайрат Кусейнович Молдасеитов ; born January 18, 1967 ) is a Kazakh businessman and politician.

Life

Qairat Moldasseitow was born in 1967. He graduated from the Agricultural Institute in Aqmola in 1991 . In 2000 he graduated from the Kazakh State University of Law.

After graduating from college, he worked in business. Between 1992 and 2009 he was employed in various positions at several companies. From 2007 to 2009 he was also a member of the regional parliament of the South Kazakhstan region . In July 2009 he was appointed Äkim (mayor) of the city of Turkistan . After Arman Shetpisbayev resigned from his position, Moldasseitov was appointed the new Akim of Shymkent on April 24, 2012 . After a series of corruption scandals and the resignation of other regional politicians, Moldasseitov was also dismissed from his post at the head of the city administration on May 21, 2013. According to official information, he was released for health reasons. He has been Hungary's Honorary Consul in Schymkent since January 2017 .
