Amalbek Tschanow

Amalbek Qosybaquly Tschanow ( Kazakh Амалбек Қозыбақұлы Тшанов , Russian Амалбек Козыбакович Тшанов Amalbek Kosybakowitsch Tschanow ; * 4. April 1943 in Sowetskoje, Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh politician .

Life

Amalbek Tschanow was born in 1943 in the village of Sovetskoye (today Qaratöbe) in today's Töle Bi district in the Turkistan region. He graduated from the Kazakh Institute of Chemical Technology in Chimkent with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1979 .

Tschanow began his professional career in 1958 at a secondary school in his home village. In 1961 he worked for a short time for the cement plant in Tschimkent. In the following years he worked for various companies in the region.

After Kazakhstan's independence, on February 21, 1992, Chanov was appointed head of the city administration of the city of Shymkent. As early as December 15, 1993, he was relieved of this position and a little later became deputy chairman of the Committee on Industry, Energy, Transport and Communication in the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In October 1994, as Minister of Construction, Housing and Rural Development, he became part of the Kazakh government in the cabinet of Prime Minister Äkeschan Qaschygeldin . In October of the following year he left the government as a member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan. In October 1997 he was appointed Äkim (governor) of the Shambyl region . He held this post until January 1998. From 1999 he was a member of the Maschilis , the Kazakh parliament. From October 2004 he was a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security.
