Bolat Shylqyshev

Bolat Äbschapparuly Schylqyschijew ( Kazakh Болат Әбжаппарұлы Жылқышиев , Russian Болат Абжапарулы Жылкышиев Bolat Abschaparuly Schylkyschijew * 17th September 1957 in Abai, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician.

Life

Bolat Schylqyschijew was born in 1957 in the village of Abai in Keles County in southern Kazakhstan (now the Turkistan Region). He graduated from the Kazakh Institute of Chemical Technology in Chimkent with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1966 . In 1996 a further degree in mechanical engineering and economics followed at the Technical University of South Kazakhstan.

After graduating from the institute, he worked in various companies from 1979 to 1984. He then became involved in the Communist Party of Kazakhstan and from 1984 was a member of the party committee of the Dzerzhinsky district (now Äl-Farabi) in Tschimkent. Between 1991 and 1992 he was the deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the City of Chimkent. After Kazakhstan's independence from the Soviet Union, he became the head of the district administration of the Dzerzhinsky district.

In October 1995 he was appointed Äkim (Mayor) of the city of Taras . In February 1998 he became Deputy Äkim of South Kazakhstan. After a year in this post, he worked in the regional administration of South Kazakhstan from February to December 1999. Between December 1999 and March 2001 he held the post of Äkim of the city of Kentau and subsequently he was Äkim of Schymkent. On August 30, 2002, he was appointed Äkim of South Kazakhstan by the President. He held this position until September 20, 2006 and from October of that year he was Vice President of Kazatomprom . Shylqyshev has been a member of the Kazakh Senate since August 29, 2007 , where he was first a member of the Agriculture and Environment Committee. Since December 2011 he has been chairman of the Senate Committee on Nature Management and Rural Development.
