history

The Communist Party in Kazakhstan was founded in 1936 in the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic . At that time Kazakhstan became a union republic of the Soviet Union. It was an offshoot of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union until the dissolution of the Soviet Union , and since the independence of Kazakhstan it has been an independent communist party.

Since then it has been a rather insignificant cadre party with traditional structures in the Republic of Kazakhstan .

However, due to the Soviet layout, it was also able to fall back on a functioning party apparatus from the Soviet era.

On October 5, 2011, the Almaty Administrative Court issued a six-month political ban on the party. This meant that the party could not take part in the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan in 2012 . The Kazakh Communist Party had previously announced that it would participate in the “Popular Front” alliance, which opposes the policies of President Nursultan Nazarbayev . In April 2012, the party's political ban was extended for a further six months.

On September 4, 2015, the party was banned by a court.
