The Union of Communist Parties - Communist Party of the Soviet Union ( Russian Союз коммунистических партий - КПСС; СКП - КПСС ; SKP - KPSS ) is an association of communist parties in the former Soviet Union , which has been operating in the successor republics since 1993.
The chairman of the organization is Gennady Zyuganov , who in 2001 replaced the previous long-time chairman, Oleg Shenin . This split off from the UdKP-CPSU as the Communist Party of the Soviet Union - Schenin .
