The Communist Party Tajikistan ( Tajik Ҳизби коммунистии Тоҷикистон Hisbi kommunistii Todschikiston ; Russian Коммунистическая партия Таджикистана ) is a communist party in Tadschikistan . After Tajikistan's independence, it was the country's most important political party and in the first parliamentary election in Tajikistan in 1995, it became the strongest faction with 60 seats in the newly elected Tajik parliament.
In the elections, which took place between February 27 and March 13, 2005, the party received 20.63% and won 4 out of 63 seats in parliament.
In the elections on February 28, 2010, the party received 7% of the vote and thus 2 seats in parliament.
The party is tied to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union , a communist organization run by the Russian Oleg Shenin .
The party's chairman was Shodi Davlyatovich Shabdolov from 1991 to 2016 . He was succeeded by Merodsch Abdullojew.
