Dragon Tales is a Canadian - US animated series produced by Sesame Workshop , Sony Pictures Television and Decode Entertainment from 1999 to 2005. It was created by James Coane , Ron Rodecker and Wesley Eure and has 93 episodes. In 2000 the series was nominated for an Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Production Produced for Children .

The series tells of the adventures of six-year-old Emmy and her little brother Max, who are in possession of an enchanted dragon stone. He can take you to a wonderful fantasy land that is inhabited by colorful anthropomorphic dragons. As friends of four dragons, Ord, Cassie, Zak and Wheezie, they travel frequently to Dragonland and help their friends with certain tasks, with their daily problems and learn important customs through their experiences with educational imagination of Drachenland. Later comes Enrique, who grew up in Puerto Rico .

Production and publication

The series was produced by Sesame Workshop , Sony Pictures Television and Decode Entertainment and directed by Tim Eldred and Phil Weinstein . In addition to the main authors James Coane , Ron Rodecker and Wesley Eure , many other authors were employed for the scripts of the individual episodes. Anna Granfors was responsible for the editing and the music was composed by Jim Latham , Billy Alessi and Brian Garland .

The total of 93 episodes were broadcast in three seasons. The first broadcast in the USA and Canada took place on September 6, 1999 on PBS and CBC . The first season ended after 40 episodes on February 11, 2000. The second season with 25 episodes was shown from June 4 to November 30, 2001. The 29 episodes of the third season followed from February 28 to November 25, 2005. The German first broadcast took place from July 6, 2002 to April 5, 2003 on Sat.1 . The series was also shown in Brazil, Italy and Poland.
