action

The orphan Aaron learned that he was a Nephilim . His father was an angel, his mother, who died in his birth, was human. But he also inherited extraordinary gifts from his father. Like all Nephilim, from his 18th birthday he speaks all languages, including those of animals. He can have superhuman physical strength and he can feel "fallen angels". Therefore, the now 19-year-old is supposed to bring the fallen angels back to heaven as part of a divine plan. He may be the Savior, the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy. However, he doubts whether it is right to lead the angels banished from heaven back there. He is also constantly on the run from the mighty, the sky warriors, who hunt the Nephilim to kill them. The mighty are angels and understand their task in such a way that it would be incumbent upon them to eradicate the bastards of Nephilim from the earth and to purify God's creation.

The "fallen angel" Azazel wants to help Aaron on his way to his destiny and for this reason was freed by an initially unknown person after more than 5,000 years of imprisonment. Azazel is strong enough to fight the mighty. He is superior to most powerful and has so far only been defeated by the powerful Mazarin. Aaron learns from Azael that angels have no souls and that every angel who is not sent back to heaven beforehand by him will perish forever when he dies. Azazel and Aaron together defeat the mighty at the beginning of the film. Mazarin, who has never been defeated before, wonders how Aaron got over him and why he then releases him instead of destroying him. Azazel, on the other hand, kills an attacker who was overwhelmed by him, although he had surrendered. The mighty withdraw, unsure of the grace that Aaron Mazarin bestowed.

Azazel explains to Aaron that if a Nephilim is born, its human mother always dies. Aaron is therefore angry with his unknown father. Azazel wants to bring him to the “Light Bringer”, who has the answer to all questions, because he made the prophecy of his appearance as savior in the first place. Although Aaron and his girlfriend don't really trust Vilma Azazel, they follow him into the mountains.

Aaron's friend Camael tries in captivity to convince the mighty to recognize Aaron as "the Redeemer", but Mazarin refuses. Camael, who used to be the leader of the mighty himself, had turned away from them because he saw their actions as wrong. He is tortured by the mighty and his wings are cut off with angel fire. However, he manages to free himself and he follows Aaron. Camael finds help from Ariel, who is also a fallen. She uses her abilities to heal.

Mazarin begins to doubt his task and Michael, the most powerful of all angels who drove the fallen from heaven, appears to him. He reveals to him that Azazel is a danger to the divine plan and that he will probably need the help of the boy (Aaron) to defeat him. He praises his loyal service, but not the killing of the fallen and their children, which further unsettles Mazarin.

Azazel tells Aaron and Vilma that he was the leader of the angels who rebelled against God and that he was working with Lucifer at the time. However, they had split up because Lucifer wanted to take over heaven, but he fought for the right to leave it. One night Azazel leaves the two of them to find his secret liberator, but he comes back in time to save them. Aaron is overwhelmed with a tranquilizer dart by a member of an ominous Order of Men. These order members know of the reality of angels but believe they can manipulate them to their advantage. Azazel overpowers the attacker and he begs Aaron to redeem him. He had done bad things in his life and now he also had a brain tumor that he would soon die of. Aaron refuses his pardon and Azazel kills the now seriously injured, to the horror of Aaron and Vilma, with a kick.

Azazel leads his companions to a dilapidated monastery, the place of the "Lightbringer", whom Aaron must meet alone in order to experience his destiny. Aaron enters the monastery and there meets the "Light Bringer" in the form of a wise man who can answer his questions. Aaron tells him that he blames the fallen angel who is his father for the death of his mother because he killed her with his conception. The “Light Bringer” portrays her as a martyr whom he loved above all else. He asks Aaron for redemption. Aaron is unsure what to do because he doesn't want to forgive his mother's death. The “Light Bringer” now explains to him that he, the Redeemer, would descend from him who deserves redemption most, the cause of it all, Lucifer. Aaron needs to realize that Lucifer is his father.

Lucifer explains to him that he does not want to rule in heaven, but only wants to choose where he lives. Lucifer pleads guilty and tries to make it clear to Aaron that he has changed and that he has paid enough and that he can finally send him back to heaven. He asks Aaron's forgiveness. Aaron now knows why he has all this power. It's all about the redemption of Lucifer.

Camael, Ariel, Mazarin and Sachael find the killed order member in the forest. Mazarin realizes that Azazel will drive Aaron into Lucifer's arms in order to send him back to heaven. They then discuss what to do with each other. Mazarin finally realizes the truth and that he made a mistake.

In front of the monastery, Vilma becomes impatient and wants to rush to help Aaron, she rushes to his aid and only finds herself in her own hell. Aaron realizes the true extent of his father's crimes and shrinks from redeeming him. He turns away from his father and he shows him where he really is, in hell.

Vilma awakens and finds herself back in Dr. Luke, from which she was freed by Aaron in Part 2. Meanwhile, Lucifer tries to blackmail Aaron by showing him his girlfriend's captivity and offering him to release him and her from hell if he sends him back to heaven. However, Vilma can use Dr. Lucas persuade them to free them and escape hell.

Aaron is now ready to stay in Hell if he can prevent Lucifer from taking over Paradise. Suddenly he understands everything: Lucifer cannot keep anyone in hell. People choose hell for themselves, but they don't have to stay there forever. Only Lucifer is the only being who cannot leave hell.

Vilma leaves the ruins of the monastery and now asks Azazel to help Aaron and in her anger she ignites the angel fire (a flaming sword) in her for the first time. Azazel can overcome it first. When he tries to kill her, however, he is prevented by Camael, who reaches the scene. Azazel can still defeat the wounded and weakened Camael, but he cannot kill him because Sachael prevents him from doing so. She can't stop Azazel, but she can hold Azazel off until Mazarin arrives. Mazarin succeeds in defeating Azazel again.

Aaron has now realized that only he himself is equal to his father, the devil. A fight ensues between them. Aaron realizes that the angel in him is as powerful as his father, but that he is superior to him, because he is also human and that makes him stronger. He defeats Lucifer, destroys him and leaves hell.

Outside he meets the others. Camael is dying and is redeemed by him. The mighty Mazarin kneels in front of Aaron and asks for forgiveness. He now acknowledges the Savior. Aaron tells him to stop killing the fallen and the Nephilim. Mazarin chains Azazel back on until the Last Judgment and makes it clear to him that after Aaron's victory over Lucifer this judgment may never come. Aaron just wants to go home and redeem the fallen, who can now come to him without fear of the mighty. Vilma wants to follow him everywhere.
