Rade Šerbedžija (born July 27, 1946 in Bunić near Gospić , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian - Slovenian actor .

Life

Rade Šerbedžija completed his acting training in Zagreb . As a student he took on leading roles in various theater and film productions. He has both Croatian and Slovenian citizenship and currently lives in the United States and partly on the island of Brijuni , where he runs the Ulysses Theater with his wife .

He has starred in several Hollywood productions. In his roles he mostly portrayed Eastern Europeans.

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.

Rade Šerbedžija is a signatory of the declaration published in 2017 on the common language of Croats , Serbs , Bosniaks and Montenegrins .
