Daniel Rosenboom

Daniel Aaron Rosenboom (* 7. May 1982 in Oakland ) is an American jazz musician of the modern creative ( trumpet , composition ) and music producer .

Live and act

Rosenboom, the son of the composer David Rosenboom , learned the piano from the age of five. He received his old trumpet from his father. This became his main instrument. First he received a classical education.

He leads his Daniel Rosenboom Quintet as well as the Burning Ghosts project and the Balkan band PLOTZ! as well as the Modern Brass Quintet . Eight albums have been released under his own name since the debut album in 2006, most recently Book of Storms (2015) and with PLOTZ! three albums appeared. With the group DR. MiNT he presented four albums. He worked with the Grande Mothers of Invention , in the classical field with John Adams , Esa-Pekka Salonen , Thomas Adès , Anne LeBaron and Nick Didkovsky . He toured several times with pop singer Josh Groban . He is also on albums by Vinny Golia , Anthony Wilson , Harris Eisenstadt , Rade Šerbedžija / Miroslav Tadić , Irmin Schmidt , Kubilay Üner, the Jon Armstrong Jazz Orchestra, Jose Gurria-Cardenas' Gurrisonic Orchestra , Trevor Anderies, Dorian Wood, RootSystem , Geoff Gallegos' NineNet , Killsonic , Got Monk? , Orkestar Mézé and the Industrial Jazz Group . It has been presented at the Monterey Jazz Festival , Angel City , the International Jazz Festival Saalfelden and the North Sea Jazz Festival .

Rosenboom has received numerous composition commissions and grants. He also works as a studio musician in Hollywood and as such on the score for numerous films such as Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens , X-Men: Apocalypse , The Good Dinosaur , Goosebumps , Godzilla , Spider-Man 2 , X-Men: Days of Future Past , A Million Ways to Die in the West or Big Hero 6 .
