Ulrich Frank (voice actor)

Ulrich Frank (born February 2, 1943 in Strasbourg , Alsace ; † April 17, 2017 in Gauting , Bavaria ) was a German voice actor and actor .

Life

Ulrich Frank took acting lessons from Hans Baur . Frank worked as an actor since 1963. He played the role of Leonce in Leonce and Lena and Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of Baskerville , among others . In the mid-1980s, Frank moved to Munich . Here he found employment as a voice actor. The most famous role he dubbed is that of the German voice of Ned Flanders from the series The Simpsons , which he played for 25 years between 1991 and 2015. Frank is on TV in productions like Big Mäc , Der Fahnder , Hidden Cameraand the Francis Durbridge two-part The Chain occurred. He was also the German voice actor for Gecko Moria in the anime series One Piece ; Alexander Brem has been doing this since 2014 . Since 2009 Frank has dubbed the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot in the British television series Agatha Christie's Poirot for their German DVD releases.

In 1999 Frank dubbed the role of Herr von Boden in the animated film Das große Krabbeln . He also gave Fungus his voice in the children's film Die Monster AG and Van in the animated film Cars .

In 2016 he gave up the role of Ned Flanders in the series The Simpsons and went into retirement. He died in April 2017 at the age of 74. Frank was cremated and the urn was buried on April 27 at the Gauting forest cemetery.
