Well-known modern myths such as kidnappings by UFOs or the infiltration of society by aliens are discussed.

Taken - Entführung has been available on DVD in Germany since September 2005 . The box consists of six DVDs, five of which contain the miniseries and the sixth contains a 43-minute making-of .

production

The series cost just under $ 40 million to produce. Each of the ten full-length episodes was shot with a different director. In order to make the storylines as credible as possible, Spielberg put together numerous scientific advisors from the USA and Canada - including technical advisors, surgeons, historians and military experts. For the special effects , Steven Spielberg hired leading specialists in the industry: James Lima ( Spider-Man , Starship Troopers , The Mummy ) for the visual effects and Chris Gorak ( Minority Report , Fight Club , Blade: Trinity ) for the production design. A total of around 16 creative people worked on the visual implementation of Taken.

Awards and success

Taken was awarded an Emmy for "Best Miniseries" and received five other Emmy nominations, including for "Best Special Effects in a Miniseries". There was a Golden Globe nomination for "Best Mini-Series" and a Golden Satellite Award in the "Best Mini-Series" category.

Episodes

Episode 1: Beyond the Sky (1944-1947)

The story begins with episode 1 in 1944 during the Second World War. The American fighter pilot Russell Keys ( Steve Burton ) is shot down during a combat mission over France and rescued by "Guardian Angels". The light phenomena observed by him and his entire crew serve the myth of the foo fighters . As it turns out later, the "guardian angels" are not angels, but extraterrestrials . Keys returns to America and has a son named Jesse with his wife Kate. Over time, however, he notices that he is now regularly abducted by aliens, which is increasingly becoming a psychological ordeal for him and his young family.

The action jumps to 1947, the Roswell UFO crash . The US military captain Owen Crawford ( Joel Gretsch ) is the head of a top secret government organization that aims to uncover the secrets of the aliens. Shortly after the events in Roswell, an unknown wounded man appears on the farm of the waitress and mother of two Sally Clarke ( Catherine Dent ) and hides there for a while. Sally's husband is away on business at this point. The stranger seems to have some strange abilities. Sally, whose marriage is emotionally shattered, falls in love with the mysterious stranger and starts a relationship with him. Before the government can grab the "visitor", he can be picked up by his people, the extraterrestrials. Sally realizes what she has gotten into with him. Months later, Sally gives birth to a boy with extraordinary, frightening abilities.

Episode 2: Jacob and Jesse (Jacob and Jesse) (1958–1962)

The now 13-year-old Jesse Keys ( James Kirk ), son of Russell Keys, is kidnapped by the aliens like his father. Russell tries everything to protect his son from the aliens. At the same time, Crawford continues to try to unravel the mystery of the aliens and the Roswell crash. Even after ten years of intensive research, it could not be found out how the recovered UFO works. The dissatisfied government then orders a new German researcher to work on this project. He finds out that the spaceship can be made to fly with thought energy ( psi energy). After unscrupulous research on his part, he comes across Sally Clark's son Jacob ( Anton Yelchin ), who was conceived by an alien (episode 1). He should use his special skills to make the UFO fly. Owen Crawford, meanwhile also married and father of two sons, befriends Sally and thus finds access to the Clarks - and thus to Jacob. The subsequent kidnapping attempt fails when Jacob uses his powers on him and then finds shelter in another family with the help of his siblings.

Episode 3: High Hopes (1962–1970)

Due to a lack of research results, the government threatens to cut the budget for alien research, making further research impossible. Since the specialists are now also dealing with the tabloid media, they quickly track down the several times kidnapped Russell Keys and his son Jesse. In their desperation over the kidnappings, the two voluntarily offer to be examined. The doctors discover a tiny object in Russell's head that seems to be alive and has extraordinary abilities. Trying to remove this object surgically kills everyone and Russell himself. Jesse is rescued from the clutches of the government by the aliens and goes into hiding for a while.

Episode 4: Acid Test (1970–1980)

Owen Crawford's sons Eric ( Andy Powers ) and Sam ( Ryan Merriman ) have drifted apart from their father's different treatment. While Eric, who has always been neglected, follows in his father's less glorious footsteps, Sam, who was preferred by Owen, studies journalism and turns against his father. Through an archaeological dig, Sam unintentionally gets closer to the secrets of the aliens and gets in the way of the townspeople, who in turn try to keep something terrible that happened many years ago a secret. His engagement with the archaeologists ends fatally for Sam. Shortly thereafter, Owen also dies of cardiac arrest after Eric, with some satisfaction, brought him the news of Sam's death.

The now grown-up Jesse Keys ( Desmond Harrington ) has returned from the Vietnam War confused and addicted to drugs. The memories of the alien abductions made him depressed. He finds help from the nurse Amelia ( Julie Ann Emery ). They become a couple and have a son, Charlie.

Episode 5: The Temptation (Maintenance) (1980-1983)

Jacob Clarke ( Chad Donella ) returns home to say goodbye to his dying mother. He is now married and has an eleven year old daughter named Lisa. Only now does Jacob reveal his secret to his brother Tom ( Ryan Hurst ). Tom, who was a vehement opponent of the alien theory throughout his life and who tends to believe in a government conspiracy, has now made a name for himself as a star author of various works on this subject. When his sudden change of heart is noticeable in the media, he involuntarily draws researchers' attention back to his family. Eric Crawford, meanwhile, continues his father's secret investigation. Together with Dr. Chet Wakeman ( Matt Frewer ) he pursues Jacob Clarke and Jesse Keys, who seem to have mysterious "guardian angels". Before they can catch them, Jacob dies for reasons unknown at the time. Jesse ultimately ends up in a mental hospital where he will spend the rest of his life.

Episode 6: Charlie and Lisa (Charlie and Lisa) (1983-1997)

After the deaths of Jesse and Jacob, their children continue to be haunted by the aliens, while both are still hunted and observed by Crawford's men. Crawford quickly realizes that both Charlie Keys ( Adam Kaufman ) and Lisa Clarke ( Emily Bergl ) are under the protection of the aliens, who will not allow them to be kidnapped. During one of their alien abductions, Charlie and Lisa father a child, but do not remember it. A little later Lisa gives birth to her daughter Allison (Allie). Dr. Chet Wakeman shows interest not only in the aliens, but also in Eric Crawford's daughter Mary ( Heather Donahue ).

Episode 7: God's Equation (Present)

While visiting a "kidnapped self-help group", Charlie met Lisa. Both feel a special connection to each other, which they cannot explain with certainty, and therefore undergo hypnosis. The two discover that Charlie is the father of Lisa's nine-year-old daughter Allie ( Dakota Fanning ). Allie is a special girl who seems to be even more powerful than her grandfather Jacob. She is able to influence time and space, read minds and heal wounds. Dr. Wakeman and his lover Mary Crawford plan to kidnap Allie for their research projects, but it is not that easy. Only when Allie is faced with the choice between her life and that of the other therapy participants does she go to them voluntarily. Eric Crawford is murdered in cold blood in this episode because he has scruples about having the other therapy participants murdered.

Episode 8: Dropping the Dishes

After the Bush administration comes to power, General Beers ( James McDaniel ) is entrusted with the secret alien research. He uses Allie as bait to lure the aliens into a trap. Mary Crawford, meanwhile, is expelled from the project and is very angry about it. At the same time, Charlie and Lisa go in search of their kidnapped daughter. Lisa is mentally connected to Allie, which enables her to find the child's whereabouts: an abandoned farm in North Dakota. Meanwhile, Mary Crawford finds an old heirloom on her family's abandoned country estate: a metal-like object from the wreckage of the UFO that crashed in Roswell, which her grandfather always hid from the government. Hoping to find out what the mysterious object is all about, she brings it to Allie, whereupon a violent mental and physical reaction is observed. Meanwhile, a UFO appears over the farm and is shot down by the present military.

Episode 9: John (John)

Since the UFO was forced to land, it can now be explored. After an eventful exploration of the spaceship from the inside, the UFO can suddenly fly again and unceremoniously takes the entire building, in which Allie is at the time, with it before it disappears. It turns out that the entire apparition was just a trick by Allie to fake the government of their kidnapping and secretly escape with their parents. However, after this show of strength, she herself is very exhausted, which makes it clear that using her ability could sooner or later cost her, like her grandfather Jacob, her life. Charlie, Lisa and Allie are on the run, but their signal can be received. During a rest, "John", Jacobs' father, appears. Shortly thereafter, villagers appear who want to get the reward on Allie. John stops her with all his might, but is shot.

Episode 10: The Farewell (Taken)

Charlie, Lisa, Allie and John are still on the run. Meanwhile, Allie tells her mother that she "saw" something that scared her while she was in captivity. It becomes clear that John has come to take Allie with him to the aliens, which the girl and her parents resist for the time being. However, John admits to regret what he did to Allie and her ancestors. He says that he and the other extraterrestrials are scientists and have researched people especially with regard to their emotional world, as this is something alien to his species. You yourself had lost the emotions in the course of evolution, they are very much hidden. The warmth Grandmother Sally had shown John woke a little of it. And so began the experiment to unite the two, the successful result of which is Allie. At the same time, Dr. Wakeman to his colleague Crawford.

Dr. Wakeman and Mary Crawford have separated from the military but can still pick up the signal. Wakeman now sees his job as protecting Allie. Crawford, on the other hand, wants to keep fighting and have power. On the way, the group meets with Uncle Tom, whom they had previously contacted. During a further stop, Lisa and Allie can only barely evade the access of Wakeman and Crawford with the help of John's powers, whereby the use of Crawford's weapons is prevented by Wakeman. Allie talks about the signal-shielding helmet, which makes it clear what they can be located. John explains to Allie how to turn off her and her mother's signal. They would therefore no longer be locatable for the aliens or the government.

The young family hide in the old Clarke estate. During the night, John explains to Allie that she can still send out a signal if necessary, and leaves the group so that she can no longer offer any clues. He disappears in the form of an alien in a bright light in the forest. Crawford finds out that Tom Clark still owns the farm. Wakeman tries to warn him by phone, but Crawford notices this and shoots him before he can finish speaking. She's working with the military again.

Tom calls a radio station that gets people to come to the farm to protect Allie from military access. As the situation threatens to escalate, Allie decides to go with the aliens to prevent bloodshed. Before that, she can use her powers to destroy the transmitters in the heads of the kidnapped people and thus turn off the signal with which both the aliens and the government could find them. After a long, tearful farewell, the UFOs that have come over disappear with Allie.

characters

The Clarkes

Sally Clarke

Played by Catherine Dent .
Sally has been a lonely woman since her husband Fred often works out of town. When she meets John, her life turns for the better and they develop a special bond, even if they don't know each other well. She becomes pregnant with Jacob, a half-alien. Years after Jacob was born, Owen Crawford comes looking for him. He uses Sally to be closer to him. She falls for his charm, but later discovers his true intentions and has to part with her youngest son with a heavy heart in order to protect him from the government.

Fred Clarke

Played by Alf Humphreys .
Fred is Sally's husband. Fred was always out on business, so the relationship with his wife and children was heavily strained. He died sometime between Jacob's birth and Christmas 1958.

Tom Clarke

Played by Ryan Hurst as an adult Tom and Kevin Schmidt as a young Tom .
Sally and Fred's son, Tom, has always been skeptical of his mother's ideas about extraterrestrial life and makes it his life's work to smash all alien theories wherever they appear. After Owen Crawford destroys Sally's life, Tom decides to ruin Owens. Tom is a constant obstacle in Crawford's investigation. He changes his skeptical view of aliens when he learns that his brother Jacob is half an alien himself, and has since tried to bring the truth behind the government cover-ups to the public. He always tries to protect both Jacob and (after Jacob's death) his niece Lisa from the unscrupulous machinations of Crawford.

Becky Clarke

Played by Chad Morgan as adult Becky and Shauna Kain as young Becky .
She has a special, loving bond with her younger brother Jacob and always protects him from government threats. However, she later falls in love with Eric Crawford and becomes his lover. In the end, however, she decides not to leave her husband and children for him, even if the relationship with her family is very tense. It remains unclear whether Eric's feelings for her were actually real or just a trick to find out more about Jacob.

Jacob Clarke

Played by Anton Yelchin as a young Jacob and Chad Donella as an adult Jacob .
Jacob is a cross between human and alien. In his childhood he is always different from the other children. As a shy and unsocial boy, he is bullied. That changes when he demonstrates his incredible mental powers. Jacob, now also known as Jack, over the years becomes a wise man with strong telekinetic and telepathic abilities, which he inherited from his father John. If necessary, Jacob can confront his opponents with all their fears and their mostly unpleasant future, whereupon they temporarily go mad. However, these abilities also have their disadvantages: too frequent use can cause severe head trauma, which endangers his life. Ultimately, these forces weaken his health and kill him.

Carol Clarke

Played by Sadie Lawrence .
Carol is a nice woman who marries Jacob without realizing that part of him is out of this world. Widowed, she marries Danny Holding.

Lisa Clarke

Played by Emily Bergl as the adult Lisa, Alexandra Purvis as the 13 year old Lisa and Taylor-Anne Reid as the 11 year old Lisa .
Although she is the daughter of a half-alien, she does not inherit any of her father's abilities. But she is protected from the Crawfords by the aliens and they also save her life giving birth to their daughter Allison (Allie). Lisa meets Charlie Keys on board the spaceship when she is kidnapped. Although they father Allie on board the spaceship, they cannot remember anything back on earth. Lisa later notices that she has a psychological connection with her daughter Allie. As a teenager, Lisa often wore a Hüsker-Dü T-shirt from the metal circus era.

The Crawfords

Captain / Colonel Owen Crawford

Played by Joel Gretsch .
Since the Roswell crash in 1947, Owen Crawford had made a career from captain to colonel in the United States Army Air Forces . He stops at nothing to reveal the secret of the visitors from outer space, even if he has to sacrifice his family to do so. Owen goes into a relationship with Sally Clarke to get Jacob. After his plan fails and he breaks Sally's heart, Sally's son, Tom Owen, destroys his career. In 1970, Owen died of cardiac arrest after learning of Sam's death. Eric knows that Owen knew of his fate and curses him until his last breath.

Anne Crawford

Played by Tina Holmes .
Anne is a warm woman who falls for Owen's charms. She eventually realizes that he only married her to take over the alien project from her father, Colonel Campbell. Her emotional state then worsens with a shocking conclusion: She is shot by her own husband, who makes it appear as if she had an affair with Captain Bowen, who then shot them both.

Eric Crawford

Played by Andy Powers as the adult Eric, Nolan Funk as the teenage Eric and Cody Shaer as the young Eric .
Not quite as ruthless as his father, Eric is a confused and angry man who doesn't feel loved by his parents, especially Owen. That's why he becomes jealous of his younger brother Sam. Eric inherits the extraterrestrial project from his father after blackmailing the general with Owen's notes. He loses the project when the aliens retrieve all evidence, but is back in business after another incident during a space mission. Eric's past and doggedness about the project and the search for the evidence that Tom Clarke is hiding from him alienate him from his wife Julie and daughter Mary. Later, Eric is shot dead on the orders of his own daughter.

Sam Crawford

Played by Ryan Merriman as an adult Sam, Branden Nadon as a teenage Sam and Trevor Pawson as a young Sam .
The friendly and understanding Sam grows up with the dream job of a journalist. He doesn't particularly appreciate his father and brother's project until he reads a newspaper article about ancient Eskimo ruins, the inscriptions of which resemble the symbols on the piece of metal that Owen keeps in his safe. Sam takes a trip to Alaska to find out the truth. With fatal consequences: His death.

Julie Crawford

Played by Emily Holmes .
Julie thought she was marrying the perfect man in Eric, but she is bitterly disappointed. Her bond with her daughter Mary is very strong, even though she doesn't realize how many traits Mary inherited from her grandfather.

Mary Crawford

Played by Heather Donahue as an adult Mary and Anysha Berthot as a young Mary .
Although her relationship with her mother is very good, Mary feels a stranger to her father, Eric. As a medical student, she jumps on Eric's project and, together with her scientific colleague and secret lover, Dr. Chet Wakeman made some breakthroughs. Mary experiments in cold blood with some of the "abductees" and persecutes the entire generation of Clarkes and Keys, especially Allie. Nor does she shrink from murder. She ends up being arrested for her crimes.

The keys

Capt. Russel Keys

Played by Steve Burton .
As a pilot of a B-17 bomber in World War II, Russel and his crew were kidnapped over France in 1943 by aliens who they initially mistook for German doctors. After shooting the aliens and returning home, he's a different person. The aliens are interested in him and his descendants because he is the only one of the crew hijacked in 1943 to survive contact with their technologies. In the hope of not being found by the aliens in this way, he lives a long time as a homeless person. But he is mistaken, since kidnappings continue to take place, in which he is always subjected to dubious, mostly painful experiments. Russel tries to protect his son Jesse from the aliens and is frustrated with his impotence in doing so. In the end, he is met by Air Force doctors led by Col. Owen Crawford and Dr. Kreutz, examined and operated. He dies when an attempt to remove his skull implant goes wrong.

Kate Keys

Played by Julie Benz .
After she had to wait a long time for her husband to return from Europe, Kate is disappointed to find someone else in the returned Russel. She is constantly worried about his state of mind and that he cannot tell her what has haunted him for so long. After Russell escapes, she divorces and marries the sheriff Bill Walker.

Jesse Keys

Played by Desmond Harrington as the adult Jesse, James Kirk as the teenage Jesse and Conner Widdows as the young Jesse .
The son of Russell and Kate always admires his father and his exploits during World War II. Jesse herself is kidnapped by aliens from an early age and with each of these experiences gets deeper into the vicious circle of fear and anger. He is partially traumatized by his experiences in Vietnam, where the aliens rescued him from a burning temple, but let his comrades all die. After the war he becomes addicted to heroin, but finds support again with the nurse Amelia. Jesse tries to protect his son Charlie from kidnapping, but to no avail. His experiences bring him to a mental hospital, where he remains until his death.

Amelia Keys

Played by Julie Ann Emery .
Amelia meets Jesse in the hospital where she works. She takes care of him and helps him get rid of his drug addiction. She is concerned about Jesse's increasingly erratic behavior, especially towards her son Charlie. However, Amelia finally believes Jesse when Crawford's agents show up and brings Charlie to safety.

Charlie Keys

Played by Adam Kaufman as an adult Charlie and Devin Douglas Drewitz as a teenager Charlie .
Like his father Jesse, Charlie is tormented by alien abductions. Even so, during the kidnappings, he has a fascinating encounter with Lisa Clarke, creating a special bond between the two. Charlie is a teacher, but his attempts to expose extraterrestrial activity cost him his job. He is again forced to flee the government. He meets Lisa while talking to Dr. Penzle's group of abductees studied. When the two undergo hypnosis, he learns that Allie is his daughter and tries to protect her and Lisa from then on.

Allie Keys

Played by Dakota Fanning as Allie and Elle Fanning as three year old Allie .
Unlike her mother, Allie inherited Jacobs' abilities. Allie seems very intelligent for her age and not only has the ability to read minds, but also to manipulate time and space and to change the present. She also heals her father Charlie when he is shot. Allie is the result of the alien experiments, but not even she knows what is in store for her. She is kidnapped by Mary Crawford and the military, who use her as bait to lure the aliens into a trap. However, they do not expect that the aliens are very well aware of Allie's extraordinary abilities and therefore have no need to rush to her aid as long as Allie is able to defend herself. So it happens that Allie deceives them all at the right moment and ultimately escapes with her parents. In the end, she decides to leave Earth with the aliens to avoid bloodshed between the military and humans. But she leaves a promise to come back someday.

Other figures

Alien visitor 'John'

Played by Eric Close .
When "John's" spaceship crashes near Roswell and his comrades die, he takes on the shape of a human. He meets Sally Clarke and has a child with her, Jacob. John leaves shortly afterwards, but Sally feels a special connection with him all her life. Jacob helps his mother to see John again, if only through hallucination, at her deathbed. He later returns to help his great-granddaughter, Allie. He should also take them to the aliens. Out of pity, however, he decides against it and shows her how to switch off her own "signal" and that of the kidnapped people so that the aliens can no longer find them. The military, which has long since gained knowledge of this signal and was only able to track down you and your mother in this way, can no longer locate you either. John goes on to reveal that if she ever changes her mind, she can call out to them, the aliens, to be found again.

General Beers

Played by James McDaniel .
A senior officer in the US Army. General Beers quits Mary Crawfords and Dr. Wakeman's FBI alien project. He is conducting operations in North Dakota with the aim of luring the aliens into a trap. His plan seems to work when a UFO actually crashes, but it turns out that Allie has deceived everyone.

Lieutenant / Captain Howard Bowen

Played by Jason Gray-Stanford .
One of Col. Owen Crawford's two closest associates. One night when he is asked by Owen to drive his wife Anne to a detention center, the two are stopped by Owen on the way and maliciously murdered. At the same time, Owen portrays events as if Anne had an affair with Bowen and both shot each other because of an argument.

Col. Thomas Campbell

Played by Michael Moriarty .
An Air Force Colonel and Capt. Owen Crawford's manager. He takes control of everything that happens at Roswell and excludes Crawford from it. Crawford seduces and marries his daughter Anne and blackmailed Campbell as head of the project.

Dewey Clayton

Played by Timothy Webber .
A North Dakota hunt guide that Charlie and Lisa hire to find Allie after the army cordons off the road to the area where Allie is.

Gladys & Mavis Erenberg

Played by Carol & Helen Infield Broadcasters .
Gladys and Mavis are the famous Erenberg twins who are spiritually connected to each other. They are brought to New Mexico and demonstrate their skills: spatially separated from each other, one looks at a bouquet of flowers while the other draws it in great detail. Owen Crawford and Dr. Kreutz hope the twins can fly the crashed spaceship and bring them inside. Well aware that a long stay in the UFO inevitably leads to death in humans, they let the twins try to get the UFO in motion well beyond time. When they re-enter the spaceship, they are both dead.

Lieutenant / Captain Marty Erickson

Played by John Hawkes .
The second of Col. Owen Crawford's two henchmen. He suspects Col. Crawford of killing his wife and Captain Bowen, but doesn't tell Eric about it until several years after Owen's death. Eric has him arrested as a party to the crime.

Danny Holding

Played by Byron Lucas .
A musician and neighbor of Carol Clarke, who often babysits for Lisa and later becomes Carol's second husband.

Nina Toth

Played by Camille Sullivan (adult) and Brittney Irvin (teenager).
Lisa's best friend since school. She shares her fondness for the music of Hüsker Dü .

Dr. cross

Played by Willie Garson .
After the Second World War, the Nazi engineer fled to America. After the Roswell crash, he began working under Colonel Crawford in 1947. Dr. Kreutz is a rather strict and cool person and without hesitation sacrifices test persons. A cruel fate meets him after the experiments on Russel Keys.

Lester

Played by Frederick Koehler .
Lester lives in the cold Alaskan forests. He is a cross between a human and an alien, but, unlike Jacob Clarke, was born completely deformed. Lester looks like a mutated alien human and has the unwanted ability to kill anyone who looks him in the eye. Shaken by himself, he hides in a small hut in the forest. He erects a grave similar to the Egyptian burial chambers for his dead twin brother (also very disfigured) and hopes to be able to bring him back to life with magic. Lester and his twin brother are failed attempts of the aliens and so have no meaning to them. Lester burns when an angry crowd sets his hut on fire.

Dr. Harriet Penzler

Played by Gabrielle Rose .
Dr. Penzler is very interested when she hears about the experiences of the "kidnapped". So she opens a therapy group in which abductees can talk about their experiences. She also uses hypnosis so that the participants in her group can remember. When she hypnotizes Lisa to find Allie, she is killed by an agent.

Lieutenant Pierce

Played by Michael Soltis .
A young soldier who takes care of Allie while she is held captive by the military. He reads her The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn . When the UFO crashes, he is one of the soldiers chosen to go inside. After Allie's deception is exposed, he helps her and her parents escape.

Ray

Played by Brian Markinson .
Ray pretends to have been abducted by aliens, but is actually a victim of sexual abuse. He tries to create a media spectacle by taking the therapy group hostage to prove to himself that he is sane. Allie convinces him to give up.

Sue

Played by Stacy Grant .
Captain Crawford's girlfriend until he finds a career opportunity in marrying Anna. Sue finds a piece of alien technology and brings it to him. He promises her to renew their relationship, but brutally kills her.

Sheriff Bill Walker

Played by Ian Tracey .
Second husband of Kate Keys.

Dr. Chet Wakeman

Played by Matt Frewer .
Despite his intelligence, Wakeman can also be extremely sadistic. He has a childish fascination for aliens and is ready to sacrifice anything in order to be able to share in experiences with aliens. Therefore, he also sacrifices the lives of people and animals in order to get results and satisfy his curiosity. Although he is Eric Crawford's boyfriend, their friendship fades over time, especially when Wakeman gets very close to Eric's daughter Mary and the two have a year-long affair. However, Mary is the one who kills Wakeman with a shot in the back when he tries to warn Charlie Keys and Lisa Clarke about her.
