She then took courses at the University of California College, majoring in psychology and minor in business administration .

Hotel Zack & Cody
In 2005 Song got the role of London Tipton in the Disney series Hotel Zack & Cody . She got the role without an audition and was surprised to find her friend Ashley Tisdale there, who played "Maddie Fitzpatrick" on the show. Song said, "London is a fantastic person, I wish I was her. I wish I had her closet."
The series revolves around the guests and workers at the fictional Tipton Hotel in Boston , but above all the prank twins Zack and Cody Martin ( Dylan and Cole Sprouse ), London Tipton (song) and Maddie Fitzpatrick (Ashley Tisdale). The series premiered on March 18, 2005 on the US Disney Channel. The premiere was seen by over four million viewers, it was the most successful first broadcast in 2005 on the Disney Channel. In 2006, Song was nominated for the Asian Excellence Award in the Outstanding Newcomer category for her work on Hotel Zack & Cody .
After her debut in Hotel Zack & Cody , Song was a regular at Disney and received speaking roles in the Disney series American Dragon and in the animated film Holidaze: The Christmas That Almost Didn't Happen . With 5.7 million viewers when it first aired, the film is one of the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies . In the beginning it was planned that Wendy Wu would be a comedy, but no suitable actress could be found for the lead role. Lydia Cook, a producer on the film, said, “Brenda was originally slated for a supporting role. After a short time, however, we noticed that she was much better suited for the main role of "Wendy Wu" and swapped roles. She's the perfect mix of wit and martial arts. ”Before Song got the role, she had to smash a brick with her hand.
