Dads is an American sitcom directed by Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild . It consists of a season and 19 episodes and aired on Fox from September 17, 2013 to February 11, 2014 . Executive producer is Seth MacFarlane , who is responsible for the Family Guy series on the same channel . The series has been broadcast in Germany since June 29, 2015 on ProSieben .

Warner and Eli are two successful video game developers. While Warner is married, Eli enjoys life as a single. But suddenly both of them have to adapt because their fathers move in with them.

The development of the series was announced by Fox in September 2012 . In January 2013, six episodes were ordered directly without a pilot episode having already been produced. The pilot, directed by Mark Cendrowski , was written by Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild , who are executive producers in addition to Seth MacFarlane . On May 8, 2013, the order was more than doubled to 13 episodes. In October 2013 the order was finally expanded to a full season of 22 episodes, but on December 6th it was reduced to 19 episodes. Of these 19 episodes, however, only 18 were broadcast. The 19th episode, Jerk in a Box , was only seen on Hulu and the Fox website.

Dads received mostly negative reviews, with a score of 0 percent on Rotten Tomatoes . In summary, Dads is almost a total disaster with racist jokes, predictable plot and unsympathetic characters. ). Tim Goodman wrote that Fox's worst sitcom, Dads, airs right before the best, Brooklyn Nine-Nine .
