Vanessa Joy Minnillo (born November 9, 1980 in Angeles City , Pampanga , Philippines ) is an American television presenter and actress . In America, she became known for hosting Total Request Live (2003-2007) on MTV.

biography

Her father is American of Italian - Irish descent and her mother is Filipina. During her childhood, Minnillo had to move often because her father worked for the United States Air Force . She lived intermittently in Washington , California , Nevada , Florida , Germany and Japan . Her parents divorced in 1986. Minnillo has a brother.

In her youth, Minnillo was "Miss South Carolina Teen USA" and was voted "Miss Teen USA" in 1998. She later moderated the elections for "Miss Teen USA 2004" and "Miss Universe 2007". In 2006, she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for hosting Total Request Live . In 2006 she starred in his music video for What's Left of Me . She is currently a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight . She has been in a relationship with the singer Nick Lachey since 2006 . In November 2010, they announced their engagement. In July 2011 they got married on the private island Necker Island in the Caribbean , which belongs to the British billionaire Richard Branson .
