The Disney Channel Games are a competitive series produced by the Disney Channel each year from 2006 through 2008.

3-4 teams compete in different disciplines to collect points and win the Disney Channel Games Cup . The 2006 Games ran in some English-speaking countries as well as Latin America , since 2007 the games have been shown internationally on the respective national Disney Channel and representatives from some countries outside of America also competed.

The successor to the Disney Channel Games are Disney's Friends for Change Games .

General

The DC Games took place in spring through summer, but did not air until summer through fall. For Germany in 2007 Bela Klentze and Isabella Soric (both from Disney's short break ) took part, in 2008 only Soric took part. The teams can win the Disney Channel Games Cup .

Disney Channel Games 2007

The 2007 Disney Channel Games took place at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista , Florida . The teams fought for various aid organizations: Boys & Girls Club , UNICEF , Make-a-Wish Foundation and Starlight Starbright Childrens Foundation . The organizers tried to offset the environmental impact (e.g. from flights to Florida) with donations and new trees. The games were moderated by Phill Lewis and Brian Stepanek from Hotel Zack & Cody , and Madison Pettis from Einfach Cory was part of the jury in one game. In Germany the following series were shown during the individual game rounds: Kim Possible , Einfach Cory , Hannah Montana and Hotel Zack & Cody . Furthermore, animated Disney Channel characters commented on the individual disciplines. There were Todd and Riley from Disney's Barter Frenzy , Jake Long and Fu Dog from American Dragon , Kuzco from Kuzco's premier class as well as Kim Possible and Dr. Drakken from Kim Possible .

Disney Channel Games 2008

In 2008 Brian Stepanek hosted the Disney Channel Games alone . In addition, Meaghan Jette Martin from Camp Rock and Cody Linley from Hannah Montana moderate an online magazine on the American and English websites, Inside-Track . The German version is moderated by Disney's short break actors Benjamin Trinks and Isabella Soric. Interviews are often simulated by Manuel Straube and Patrick Roche . During the episodes, the original soundtrack plays in the background, and Benedikt Weber also comments on the games and what is being said. This time it was shot at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida . The 2008 charity organizations that will benefit from the proceeds are the Make-A-Wish Foundation , Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation , UNICEF, and the Boys & Girls Club of America . In Germany, the games will be shown every Sunday afternoon from October 5, 2008 and mixed with episodes of Hannah Montana , Hotel Zack & Cody and Die Zauberer vom Waverly Place .
