action

Mitchie Torres, a girl unpopular at her school, dreams of attending Camp Rock this summer . However, her family lacks the necessary money. In order to still be able to fulfill her daughter's dream, her mother Connie takes the job as a cook at the camp. Once there, Mitchie befriends Caitlyn Geller. However, when Tess Tyler shows off her famous mother, Mitchie also claims that she has a famous and rich mother. Tess then invites Mitchie into her clique. After Mitchie sings one of her songs, Tess lets her sing along with Ella and Peggy Background to hide her obvious talent from the others and stay the only star.

Meanwhile, the pop star Shane Gray is sent to Camp Rock by his band members Nate and Jason, because he is portrayed as rude in public, which he confirms again at the camp. When Shane meets Mitchie, however, he finds his way back to himself and is especially committed to the many talents in Camp Rock and gives a concert with Nate and Jason as Connect 3 , where they play new styles of music and songs, Shane's wrote at Camp Rock.

After Tess and Caitlyn throw food at each other, Caitlyn is punished with kitchen duty and discovers Mitchie's secret. When Tess discovers this too, Mitchie becomes an outsider again. To avoid competition from Mitchie at the Final Jam , she makes it appear as if Mitchie and Caitlyn have stolen her bracelet so that the two will be excluded from the Final Jam.

However, because of her arrogant manner, Tess loses Ella and Peggy as her followers. After Barron, Sander and Ella, Tess and Peggy sang a song at the Final Jam and Connect 3 withdrew from the jury, Mitchie and Caitlyn still appear because their sentences only lasted until the end of the Final Jam . Tess also admits that she set them up with the bracelet. During the song, Shane finds Mitchie, who had been looking for her for a long time because of her voice. Ultimately, Peggy wins the competition, the trophy and a studio recording with Shane Gray. The film ends with all participants singing the song We Rock together .
