Kuzco's King Class ( English The Emperor's New School ) is an American - Canadian animated series by the Walt Disney Company . The series is based on the cartoons A Kingdom for a Llama and A Kingdom for a Llama 2 - Kronk's Great Adventure .

action

The young Inca King Kuzco has to go to school and successfully pass the Kuzco Academy in order to remain king. In addition to his laziness and his extreme egocentrism , Kuzco is mainly blocked by the evil sorceress Yzma and her assistant Kronk. She was released by him and is now seeking revenge. She succeeds in becoming the director of Kuzco's school under the name Amzy . After Kuzco's fall, she wants to become queen.

In addition to everyday school life, he also has to master the situations that Yzma brings him into. His friend Patcha is at his side. In addition, he is in love with his classmate Malina. At the end of the last episode, the two finally go on a date.

Characters

main characters

  • Kuzco is the protagonist of the series. All public holidays ("Kuzcoween", an allusion to the American holiday Halloween ), institutions ("Kuzco Academy") or subjects ("Kuzcology") bear his name. He is the 18 year old Inca monarch . In order to be able to keep his office as king, however, he has to graduate from the "Kuzco Academy", otherwise he would lose his claim to the throne. He is in love with his classmate Malina. Although he repeatedly confesses his love to her, she rejects him and just wants to be friends with him. In the film A Kingdom for a Lama , Kuzco is portrayed as being downright greedy. And so also in the series "Kuzco's premier class".
  • Malina is a popular A student. Kuzco is in love with her and constantly woos her, which she mostly rejects. When she gets a bad grade, she usually reacts very indignantly and complains to the teacher, which no other character in the series does. She also works as a cheerleader at the Kuzco Academy and is therefore very successful and popular.
  • Kronk is both a friend of Kuzco and Yzma's assistant and a student at the Kuzco Academy. His intelligence is moderate and so he is not of great help to Yzma. He is also a successful boy scout. He is on good terms with animals (especially squirrels ), which means that he can talk to all animals. He can't remember that Amzy is Yzma
  • Yzma is Kuzco's cunning, ancient arch-enemy. She was the administrator of the Kuzco Empire for many years until Kuzco fired her at the beginning of the first film. Since then she has been hoping to get to the throne through scams and get revenge on Kuzco. As an excellent sorceress, she hopes to ascend the throne of the Inca through her magic skills. Often seen in the series as Rektorien Amzy. She comes up with many, often complex, plans to destroy Kuzco. In the film she was briefly Queen of the Inca, but was then replaced by Kuzco. Little is known about Yzma's age. She is at least 80 years old, according to the films over 130 years old. Many of her former classmates, who can be seen at a season 2 class reunion, are still alive. When she has an idea, she often shouts “Brilliant, BRILLANT, BRILLANT!”. Although Yzma Kuzco wants to dispute the throne, she is not a bad person, but rather a funny character. Yzma is also a master at disguise: she can change her identity in seconds, which often leads Kronk to ask her to transform into a clown (or something else). She also has a strange sense of humor that Kronk doesn't necessarily share with her.

Supporting characters

  • Patcha is Kuzco's friend and gives him temporary shelter in his house while Kuzco has to go to school. The overweight, kind-hearted Patcha has already been involved in many adventures with Kuzco, which is why he probably knows Kuzco better than anyone else. Patcha is actually a simple, rather poor farmer who lives in a house on a hill with his wife Chicha and their children. In the film, King Kuzco from Patcha's village intended to build an amusement park, but was ultimately able to change his mind and settled in a small hut.
  • Chicha is Patcha's wife and lovingly takes care of the children and Kuzco. The young king often gets on her nerves, but she still tries to always be helpful and loyal to Kuzco. Chicha also knows Yzma and her tricks, even when Yzma shows up in disguise, Chicha usually notices it and warns Kuzco about her. Chicha is more often present in the series than her husband Patcha.
  • Mr. Flaco Moleguaco is the short, always annoyed teacher of Kuzco. He can't stand Kuzco. Kuzco can't remember Mr. Moleguaco's name and therefore usually calls him “guacamole”. When Kuzco has to visit the Kuzco garden for a short time, Moleguaco realizes that his class without Kuzco is actually boring.
  • Matta is the nice, mostly bored waitress at school and appears in many episodes as part of the main storyline. In the flashbacks it can be clearly seen that she was already old in Kuzco's childhood.
  • Yatta is Matta's daughter and a friend of Kuzco and Malina. She works in Mudka's No. 12 as a waitress and does this job without any commitment.
  • Guaka is a big fan of Kuzco and also knows more about him than he does himself. He has actually already graduated from school, but remains a student because of Kuzco. He has been friends with Kuzco since the second season and is always there when things get tough.

Conception

An integral part of every episode are "Kuzco's scribbles", in which Kuzco depicts his experiences and thoughts in drawn form.

There are many running gags in the series , such as a beetle that crosses the background and is eaten by a monkey, the roller coaster to the secret laboratory or the forgetfulness of Yzma, which confuses her potions.

publication

The series has aired in the United States on the Disney Channel since January 27, 2006 and is still running. Later it began broadcasts on Toon Disney and ABC .

The series was also broadcast in Spanish, French and Italian on the Disney Channel, among others. In Germany, the broadcast began on June 17, 2006 on the Disney Channel. It was later repeated by Kabel 1 , Super RTL and Disney Cinemagic .
