Reinhard Brock
Reinhard Brock (born November 1, 1951 in Bergisch Gladbach ; † December 8, 2013 in Munich ) was a German actor , voice actor , author , dialogue director and sociologist .
Life
Brock studied drama at the University of Music in Saarbrücken . After graduating, he played on various stages and toured with touring theaters . Later he was director of the private theater "Blaue Maus" in Saarbrücken.
Since 1988, Reinhard Brock has mainly worked in the Munich dubbing industry. He lent u. a. Danny Glover (e.g. in Switchback or The Royal Tenenbaums ), Oliver Platt ( The Three Musketeers ), Laurence Fishburne ( Othello ) and Morgan Freeman ( Bruce Almighty ) his voice. He also spoke Paul Sorvino in Law & Order and the role of “Sulley” in Die Monster AG and Die Monster Uni as well as that of “ Hook ” in the animated films Cars and Cars 2 .
Brock was also very active in the field of animation. The best known is probably his synchronous role as the rickety nuclear power plant owner " Mr. Burns " in the animated series The Simpsons , which he had spoken since 1991 for 23 years. In addition to Mr. Burns, he also spoke the roles of "Kirk van Houten", "Dr. Julius Hibbert ”,“ High School Administrator Chalmers ”,“ Mr. Largo ”and“ Raphael ”. Since the fourth season of Family Guy he has been the German voice of Adam West as well as that of the old man " Herbert ". In the series Super Mario Bros. , Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World , he dubbed the character of " Super Mario " and in the Japanese anime One Piece he took on the role of the narrator.
Reinhard Brock wrote German dialogues for television series such as Owen Marshall and Mein liebe Biber . He also specialized in animation as a dialogue director, for example for the German version of the series Hey Arnold! and Always Trouble with Newton and the film Rudolph the red nose responsible.
Brock also worked as a filmmaker. In addition to documentaries and films, he also staged music videos and commercials.
His daughters Farina Brock (* 1984), Lucy Brock (* 1989) and Lilian Brock (* 1991) also work as voice actors.
Reinhard Brock died unexpectedly on December 8, 2013, after a short, serious illness at the age of 62.
