Graham Greene (actor)
Graham Greene CM (born June 22, 1952 in Ohsweken , Six Nation Reservation , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor .
Life
Graham Greene comes from the Oneida - Indians from. He was born to Lilian and John Greene on the Six Nation Reservation in Ontario . In his youth he did not want to be a film actor and in the 1970s he only worked as a sound engineer for Canadian rock bands from Newfoundland and Labrador . In 1974 Greene graduated from the Center for Indigenous Theater's Native Theater School in Toronto and began to gain acting experience in Toronto and England .
In 1983 Greene made his feature film debut in the sports drama Run For Your Life - A Sioux Wins for His Brothers (original title: Running Brave ). In 1985 he had a small role alongside Al Pacino in Revolution .
Worldwide known he was in 1990. On the side of Kevin Costner he played Kicking Bird (Kicking Bird) in Dances with Wolves , and was nominated for the Oscar nominated.
In the following years, Greene regularly had important supporting roles in Hollywood productions (e.g. Maverick - The Colt on the Belt, An Ace Up Your Sleeve or The Green Mile ) and guest appearances in various TV series such as LA Law - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials , Murder is her hobby , Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension or Alaska, of all things .
Although Greene often plays an Indian in films due to his origins, both inside and outside the Western genre, Greene does not see himself as a pioneer or ambassador for the Indians.
In addition to his film and television work, Greene is also a stage actor.
