Alfons van Gelder

Alfons van Gelder (born October 8, 1936 in Oberhausen ) was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 1990 until his retirement in 2001 .

After completing his legal training, van Gelder was initially a research assistant at the Philipps University of Marburg from 1965 . In 1971 he joined the justice service of the state of Hesse . In January 1972 he was appointed judge at the regional court, in June 1979 he was appointed presiding judge at the regional court, in which functions he worked at the Marburg regional court .

On February 1, 1990, van Gelder was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. The Presidium of the Federal Court of Justice ordered van Gelder to the XI. Civil Senate, to which he belonged throughout his time at the Federal Court of Justice.

Van Gelder is the ombudsman of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks .
