Pink Cadillac is a comedy film starring Clint Eastwood . The well-known stuntman Buddy Van Horn directed it . The film opened in German cinemas on April 26, 1990.

action

Eastwood plays the aging detective Tommy Nowak, who catches people as a bounty hunter for bad business , who cannot pay high debts or bail and who have committed all possible crimes. In doing so, he uses unconventional methods. Right at the beginning of the film he called the fugitive he found, pretended to be a radio host and pretended to the man that he had won a meeting with Dolly Parton . When the man tries to get into the limousine driven by Nowak, he is arrested.

One day Nowak is assigned to the young Lou Ann, who, fearing her husband, a member of the brutal home front movement, escaped to Reno , Nevada in a pink Cadillac . The life-threatening problem, however, is well hidden in the trunk - $ 250,000. What the young mother thinks is counterfeit money, however, is real money and has been laboriously collected from the home front. The racist and violent group, made up exclusively of ex-prisoners, persecutes the young woman mercilessly and does not even hesitate to kidnap the child of the persecuted.

Nowak, however, who has meanwhile fallen in love with the attractive mother, changes from a callous bounty hunter to a protector. In a loud and bloody finale, he settles accounts with the criminals and in the end even wins a new family.

criticism

"The initially self-deprecating game with Eastwood's" Dirty Harry "image is lost in the end in awkwardly staged mercenary action."
