Timothy Carhart (* 24. December 1953 in Washington as Timothy Grunig ) is an American actor in film, television and theater. He was best known for his roles in cinema productions such as Pink Cadillac , Hunt for Red October , Thelma & Louise , Red Rock West and Beverly Hills Cop III .

life and career

Timothy Carhart was born in Washington on Christmas Eve 1953. He attended junior high in Evanston , traveled to Europe , Turkey and France and later, on his return to the USA, studied theater at the University of Illinois . He finally made his debut as a television actor in 1978 in the television miniseries Erwachendes Land in a minor supporting role under his maiden name Tim Grunig, which he then changed to Carhart .

In the 1980s Carhart played in numerous smaller and larger supporting roles in the cinema, including in Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters - The Ghostbusters , Peter Weir's The Only Witness , in Susan Seidelman's Susan ... Desperately Wanted , Marie - A True Story , in Alan Alda's Sweet Liberty , Manhattan Project - The Atomic Nightmare , Sonderkommando South Korea , in the Mike Nichols comedy The Guns of Women or in Buddy Van Horn's Pink Cadillac . His numerous appearances in popular television series between 1978 and 2019 include appearances in episodes of: Alfred Hitchcock Shows , Miami Vice , Spenser , Crime Story , The Best Years , The Night Hawk , Harry's Nest , Roseanne , Back to the Past , Spaceship Enterprise - The Next Century , LA Law - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials , The X Files - The FBI's Creepy Cases , Law & Order , Profiler , CSI - On The Trail Of The Criminals , Practice - The Lawyers , Twilight Zone , 24 - Twenty Four , A Touch by Himmel , Frasier , Threat Matrix - Red Alert , Amy , Standoff , Criminal Intent - Criminal Intent , Criminal Minds , Lie to Me , Leverage , Castle , Mad Men or the Yellowstone series . He played more complex TV roles in the television series Dr. Kulani - Doctor in Hawaii where he played the character of Dr. in 18 episodes alongside his fellow actors Richard Chamberlain and Clyde Kusatsu from 1989 to 1990. In addition to his career in film and television, Carhart has also acted repeatedly, including in a 1987 production of Don DeLillo's play The Day Room at New York City Center .
