Joel Cox

Joel Edward Cox (born April 2, 1942 in Los Angeles ) is an American film editor who is best known for his numerous joint projects with Clint Eastwood .

Life

Joel Cox began his career in 1942 - as a baby in the melodrama Found Years (Original: Random Harvest ). In 1962 he started at Warner Bros. in a post office. He worked as an assistant editor for the first time in the production of the late-western The Wild Bunch - They Knew No Law (1969).

Since 1977, Cox has worked with Clint Eastwood on his directing projects. Since 1997 he has been regularly supported by the editor Gary D. Roach . At the British Academy Film Awards 2009 , Cox and Roach were nominated for Best Editing for their work on Eastwood's The Stranger Son .

In 2012, Cox was honored with the ACE Career Achievement Award .
