Gary D. Roach

Gary D. Roach (born February 5, 1964 in Los Angeles ) is an American film editor .

Roach often works in collaboration with Joel Cox . Both were best known for their work for Clint Eastwood .

Life

Roach worked as an assistant editor from the mid-1990s. In 1997 he assisted Joel Cox with the editing of Clint Eastwood's political thriller Absolute Power for the first time. In the following years both worked together repeatedly on Eastwoods projects. Since Letters from Iwo Jima from 2006, Roach has been shown as an equal second editor in Eastwood's projects alongside Cox.

At the British Academy Film Awards 2009 , both were nominated for Best Editing for their work on Eastwood's The Stranger Son . In 2013 a joint nomination for the Satellite Award followed . In 2015 the two were nominated for an Oscar .
