James Fargo
James Fargo (born August 14, 1938 in Republic , Washington ) is an American director , screenwriter and film producer . He became known through the movies Dirty Harry III - The Inexorable , The Lord of the Caravan and The Man from San Fernando .
life and career
James Fargo, born in Republic, Washington state in 1938, began his film career in 1969 as an assistant director under Robert Alan Aurthur . He previously studied communications and journalism at the University of Washington .
By 1976 he was active in a total of seventeen films. Most recently on Clint Eastwood's critical western The Texaner , where he also participated as a producer.
In 1976, Clint Eastwood entrusted him to direct the third Dirty Harry part of Dirty Harry III - The Relentless . The two knew each other from the scriptwriting for the western Sinola (1972), in which Eastwood took the lead role and Fargo worked as an assistant director. For A Stranger Without a Name , created in 1973, Fargo was Eastwood's assistant himself. In total, the two worked together on six productions.
In 1978 Fargo directed another Eastwood film, the action comedy The Man from San Fernando . In the same year he also directed the adventure film The Lord of the Caravan with Anthony Quinn , Michael Sarrazin , Christopher Lee in the leading roles. The film was very successful in the cinemas, not least because of the popular soundtrack by the composer Mike Batt , who was hired to write the film music.
Since 1983, Fargo has also successfully directed dozens of episodes from well-known television series , including episodes from Die Himmelhunde von Boragora , Das A-Team , Agentin mit Herz , SideKicks - Karate Kid & Co , Merciless Hunt , Berlin Break , in addition to numerous movies or for the series Beverly Hills, 90210 .
