Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe (born March 8, 1973 in Vienna ) is a German actor .

Life

Kodjoe was born in Vienna as the son of the German psychologist Ursula Kodjoe and her then husband, the Ghanaian doctor Eric Kodjoe. He grew up in the village of Gundelfingen near Freiburg im Breisgau . Kodjoe initially wanted to become a professional tennis player and was a very successful junior player in this discipline. However, a serious back injury ended his tennis career.

Shortly thereafter, Kodjoe began his career as a photo model and became one of the world's highest paid male models. In the United States , he became known for his role in the television series Soul Food . In 2002 he was on the list of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by the US magazine People .

Boris Kodjoe, who speaks fluent German , English , Spanish and French , married his colleague Nicole Ari Parker on May 21, 2005 in Germany and soon became a father for the first time. The family lives in the USA. His brother Patrick was a professional basketball player.
