Kimberly "Kim" Jayne Raver (born March 15, 1969 in New York City ) is an American actress .

life and career

Raver was born and raised in New York City. Between the ages of six and nine she had a recurring role on Sesame Street . She later graduated from Boston University with a degree in fine arts . She then began studying drama with her teacher and mentor Wynn Handman in New York.

At the beginning of her career, Raver made a living doing commercials . Her breakthrough came with the Broadway -Stück Holiday in which she along with Laura Linney and Tony Goldwyn occurred.

Raver made guest appearances on the television series Practice , Chaos City , Emergency Room, and Law & Order . Her acting breakthrough came in the role of the single paramedic Kim Zambrano in the Jerry Bruckheimer series Third Watch - Einsatz am Limit . In the film City Hall she was seen at the side of Al Pacino . In the film Martin & Orloff , she played with Andy Richter and Janeane Garofalo . Between 2004 and 2007, she was seen in a total of 53 episodes of the 24 series as Audrey Raines . She embodies this role again in 2014 as a mini-series . From 2008 to 2009 she played the role of Nico Reilly , editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine, in the television series Lipstick Jungle . From November 2009 to May 2012 and again from 2018 she played in Gray's Anatomy , the role of the doctor Dr. Teddy Altman .

Personal

In July 2000, Raver married Manuel Boyer. They live in New York with their sons, who were born in 2002 and 2007. Raver has a German mother and is fluent in French and German .
