Andy Richter (born October 28, 1966 in Grand Rapids , Michigan ) is an American entertainer . He grew up in Yorkville , Illinois .

Career

Andy Richter was the sidekick of late night talker Conan O'Brien on his show Late Night with Conan O'Brien from 1993 to 2000 , in the following years he was a guest for a total of eight more episodes. After leaving the show, he made guest appearances in numerous Hollywood films, including Dr. T and the Women , Dr. Dolittle 2 , Scary Movie 2 , Lots of Trouble and Buddy - The Christmas Elf . From 2001 to 2002 he had his own program Die Welt and Andy Richter (Andy Richter Controls the Universe) on the US broadcaster FOX .

In 2004, he played the crazy Bennie Bang, a criminal who hunts Jane and Roxy Ryan (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) in the movie A Crazy Day in New York . In 2006 he starred in the FOX sitcom Arrested Development . In 2007 Richter had another television series of his own with Andy Barker, PI , the NBC series, conceived by Conan O'Brien among others , had six episodes.

Until the beginning of 2010 he was again sidekick in the show The Tonight Show , which was taken over by Jay Leno , alongside Conan O'Brien . Richter has also served in this capacity on O'Brien's late night show, Conan , since November 2010.

Since 2005 he has been speaking as Lemur Mort in the Madagascar films and the associated television series The Penguins from Madagascar .
