Lipstick Jungle is an American television series in two seasons with a total of 20 episodes. The production of the series was stopped in March 2009. The German-language first broadcast took place on July 23, 2009 on the Swiss broadcaster 3+ , in Germany the series started on September 16, 2009 on ProSieben , in Austria on September 21, 2009 on ORF . The station Sixx has been broadcasting the series again since 2010 .

Lipstick Jungle describes the professional and personal lives of three best friends. The three women are among the most successful in New York. Wendy Healy is the director of a film studio. She has two children with her husband Shane. Nico Riley is the editor-in-chief of a magazine and has always been married to her former professor Charles and Victory Ford is a fashion designer and single. At the beginning of the series, Victory's fashion show flops and this wants to push her fashion brand forward again. Meanwhile, Nico does not feel particularly comfortable in her marriage to the much older Charles. At a party, she met the young photographer Kirby Atwood, with whom she soon began an affair. Wendy tries again and again to reconcile her career and family. While her husband, who has stayed at home so far, cannot cope with his wife's career.

The series is based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell, the author of Sex and the City , and started in the USA in February 2008 on the broadcasting slot of Emergency Room on NBC . Lipstick Jungle was discontinued in the US after the second season.
Quotas in Germany
The first episode on ProSieben was followed by 1.75 million viewers. In the target group of 14 to 49 year old viewers, 1.49 million viewers corresponded to a market share of 12.2 percent.
The finale of the first season on October 28, 2009 was followed by 1.41 million of the advertising-relevant target group (14 to 49 years of age), which corresponded to a market share of 10.8 percent.
