Paris Barclay (born June 30, 1956 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American television director and film producer . He was President of the Directors Guild of America from 2013 to 2017 .

Life

Barclay was born in Chicago in 1956. He attended La Lumiere School in La Porte , Indiana . He then studied at Harvard College , where he took part in the Harvard Krokodiloes university choir. During this time Barclay wrote several musical compositions. After graduating from college, he began working in the entertainment and advertising industries in California. In the 1990s he worked for a long time with Steven Bochco . Barclay has directed various television productions since the early 1990s: CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators , The Mentalist , Sons of Anarchy , Emergency Room - The emergency room , The West Wing , New York Cops - NYPD Blue , The Shield - Law of Violence , Lost , Cold Case - No victim is ever forgotten , Dr. House and In Treatment - The Therapist . Barclay was also a producer on the television production Cold Case . Barclay is an openly gay life in California.
