The National Building Museum in Washington, DC , is the National Museum of Architecture of the United States .

history

It was established by a 1980 law and is operated as a private, non-profit organization. Located in the former Pension Bureau Building , the museum is near the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Judiciary Square Metro Station (401 F Street NW). The Pension Bureau Building (1887) is a brick building designed by General Montgomery C. Meigs .
