German Most Wanted Charts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Most Wanted Charts (currently Single Top 100 ) is a series of chart evaluations by the market research company GfK Entertainment that are published monthly. They contain the most successful " cult songs " of the past decades on the current music market and are the official chart lists in Germany.

General information and qualification criteria

The Most Wanted Charts are determined by the German market research company GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (Federal Association of the Music Industry) and partly published by MTV . They record sales of image or sound carriers , downloads and music streaming . The German Most Wanted Charts were introduced on October 11, 2016 as a monthly top 100 hit parade for singles . Five independent chart lists provide information about the currently most popular " oldies, evergreens and cult hits ". The top 100 titles from the 1960s , 1970s , 1980s , 1990s and 2000s are listed separately. The Most Wanted Charts are an excerpt from the regular Top 100 singles , in which sales are recorded independently of any repertoire segment. A parallel placement of a product in both the Single Top 100 and the Most Wanted Top 100 is therefore basically possible.

Milestones

The introduction of the Most Wanted Charts took place on October 11, 2016 with the September 2016 chart issue. The first number one singles of each era were the following:
