List of number one albums in the German hit charts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the list of the number one albums in the German Schlagercharts , all products are listed that have reached the top position of the official German Schlagercharts for albums in the respective week .

Database and information on the interpretation of the statistics listed

The German Schlagercharts are determined by the German market research company GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Music Industry Association . They record sales of image and sound carriers, downloads and music streaming with German hits to end consumers. These are “ repertoire charts” that depict the “German Schlager” market segment. They show an excerpt from the regular album Top 100 , in which sales are recorded regardless of any repertoire segment. The German Schlagercharts are not just repertoire charts, but also “artist charts”, meaning samplers are not taken into account. A parallel placement of a product both in the album Top 100 and in the hit charts is therefore not only possible in principle, but will also be the rule for products that sell well.

The German hit charts were introduced in January 2001 and were initially determined separately for albums and singles on a monthly basis. The chart lists each contain the most successful sound carriers from the hit genre. Since 2004, the hit charts have only been determined for albums as the top 20 hit parade. Until June 2015, a monthly chart evaluation of the 20 most successful hit albums was carried out, which was published by the German-language online music service Musicline.de , among others . Since July 3, 2015, the Schlager album charts have been determined weekly and published by the German-language music portal schlager.de . Since April 2018, the Schlagercharts have been evaluated again as a monthly evaluation parallel to the weekly edition and between 2001 and 2015, but this time as a top 50 hit parade. The publication is carried out by the MDR show The hit of the month presented.

The evaluations of the German Schlager charts presented here only describe performers who stayed at the top of the Schlager Top 20 particularly often or for a particularly long time. However, no sales figures or further commercial success can be derived from this.
