Ben Zucker (real name: Benjamin Fritsch, born August 4, 1983 in Ueckermünde ) is a German pop singer .

Life

Ben Zucker grew up in East Berlin in the Mitte district . He has two younger siblings named Sarah and Manuel. He and his family came to West Germany shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall . He later returned to Berlin and lived there in an occupied house.

He started playing guitar at the age of 14 with the help of his father. First he covered English grunge and rock songs and then switched to German pieces. Together with Thorsten Brötzmann and Roman Lüth, Zucker produced Na and ?! , which is the title of both his debut single from March 2017 and his first album from June 2017. After the television premiere of the single at Schlagercountdown, a program moderated by Florian Silbereisen , it rose to 21st place on the iTunes charts within a few minutes . At the end of June 2017, the album entered the German album charts at number 32 and reached number four in June 2018.

In 2018, Ben Zucker was nominated for Echo Pop in two categories , "Newcomer national" and "Schlager", but couldn't win either of the two. He accompanied Helene Fischer on her stadium tour in 2018.

On June 7, 2019, his second album, Who says that ?! . With the release of the encore edition Who says that ?! Encore! it reached the top of the German album charts for the first time in May 2020 .
