Schlager.de is a German online music portal that provides daily reports on pop music and folk music . The website is operated by Deutsche Medienportale GmbH.

Companies

The portal went online in 2001 and is managed by Gregor Nebel , the son of the well-known German television presenter Carmen Nebel . In addition to editorial content, the portal largely uses user-generated content , i.e. content that can be created by reader reporters and published on the portal. With this form of participation, online portals try to bind their users more closely and generate more information.

Schlager.de reaches up to 3.5 million readers a month.

Market position and direction

The portal is one of the most popular online media in the fields of hits and folk music . Schlager.de reports daily with text and moving image content on events in the hit industry. In addition, various other formats, such as. B. competitions, voting and an artist lexicon are offered. This also includes the exclusive digital publication of the official hit charts , which are collected weekly by the Society for Consumer Research . With the video series “The Prince meets”, the portal produces a series of interviews in which the artist Chris Prinz welcomes various pop artists (e.g. Beatrice Egli , Roland Kaiser , etc.) for discussion. The vast majority of the news published is created in collaboration with various recording companies that use the medium as a communication channel to inform about new products or artists.

The company works with the concert promoter Manfred Hertlein Veranstaltungs GmbH (a subsidiary of DEAG ), WELTBILD Verlag , Gute Laune TV and FUNKE Digital , a subsidiary of the Funke media group .

In addition, Schlager.de also works with GfK Entertainment , which has made them the official partner for the publication of the Schlager Top 20 (German Schlagercharts). The company has been publishing the current chart list on its website every Friday since July 2015. In March 2017 it became known that Schlager.de and the Bauer Media Group are cooperating extensively with each other and are working together on building the largest hit platform in the DA-CH countries.

In January 2020 Schlager.de started a radio program of the same name. "Radio Schlager.de" is a joint project between the portal and Radio Schlagerparadies .

Award

The portal has been awarding an audience award every year since 2014 - the "SchlagerStar" award. The winner of this award is determined by user voting on the portal and was presented in 2015 as part of the Smago! Award. In both 2014 and 2015, the award went to the hit artist and musical actor Ross Antony . In 2016 was Andrea Berg won the award. Thanks to the vote given directly by the fan, the award is now a relevant measure of the current popularity of the Schlager artists among their listeners and fans within the Schlager industry.

Since 2017, the portal, together with the Neue Post magazine ( Bauer Media Group ), has been awarding the "My Star of the Year" award, which is one of the most relevant audience awards in the German music industry.

Events

On October 28, 2017 , the online music portal appeared as a concert organizer for the first time and organized the Schlager.de party boat in Cologne on the Rhine . The Schlager.de party night of the stars followed on September 15, 2018 at the Niederrhein Exhibition Center in Rheinberg . Among others, Beatrice Egli , Fantasy , Maite Kelly and Vincent Gross were there . On September 1, 2019 Schlager.de organized a tea dance , the Schlager.de-Tanztee, together with Manfred Hertlein Veranstaltungs GmbH . The venue was the Grugahalle in Essen .
