Fantasy (hit band)
Fantasy is a German pop - duo from North Rhine-Westphalia .
Career
In the 1990s, the trained construction mechanic Martin Hein decided to become a pop singer. For five years he performed alone under the name Martin Marcell and worked as a waiter on the side. Then around 1993 he met Fredi Malinowski alias Freddy März , who was working on his solo project with the same management team and the same producers .
At performances for which they were both engaged as solo artists, they repeatedly sang songs together and were booked together more and more often. In the summer of 1997 they appeared together at an artist gala and released their debut single Heart Wanted as a hit duo under the name Fantasy a little later . Although she already achieved fame with songs like Geh mit him , Hallelujah and Alle haben es , the big breakthrough did not materialize and her first two albums Mein Schönstes Willkommen (2002) and Alle haben es sein (2006), both on the singer's label Radiola Records Denise appeared, received little attention. Only when they were engaged by Andrea Berg several times in the second half of the 2000s for the preliminary program of their tours did their newly gained notoriety lead to success. In addition, Berg's husband Ulrich Ferber took over her management and arranged for a label change. The albums Land in Sicht (2009) and König in der Nacht (2010) were released by Ariola and were able to place themselves in the German and Austrian charts, and their best-of album 10 years after their debut release brought them into the top 20 in 2012 the charts and brought them a platinum record in Germany and gold in Austria. In addition, they were nominated for an award in the Schlager category at the Echo Awards 2013.
Her fifth studio album, Endstation Sehnsucht , made it into the top 10 of the charts in Germany and Austria and was also placed in Switzerland for the first time. For Doppelgold there was a second Echo nomination . From November 26, 2013 to January 24, 2014 Fantasy played their first own tour with over 15,000 spectators in 17 performances. Following their tour, Fantasy took part in the series of events Die Schlager des Jahres Tour 2014 , which took them through 19 German cities in five weeks. In 2014 the hit duo released the single RIO - Es geht nach Rio de Janeiro on the occasion of the soccer world championship in Brazil . With the album Eine Nacht im Paradies they reached number one in the German and Austrian charts for the first time in May 2014 and again gold status in both countries.
Two years later, the duo released their seventh studio album, Freudensprünge . For the first time they worked with Dieter Bohlen as a producer. With this album, too, the two reached number one in Germany and Austria . In Switzerland, Freudensprünge was listed in third place as the best place.
The duo's manager is currently Andreas Ferber, Andrea Berg's stepson, who also manages pop singer Vanessa Mai . Michael Dorth was the long-time producer of the two . Martin Marcell and Freddy März write most of their songs themselves. With more than 200 appearances per year, Fantasy is one of the most frequently booked pop interpreters.
Freddy March's son, Sandro , is also a pop singer.
Her eighth album Bonnie & Clyde was released on April 7, 2017 . In the same year Fantasy celebrated its 20th stage anniversary. The following albums Casanova (2019) and 100,000 colorful balloons (2020) both reached number 1 in the German album charts.

- Marcell lives in Berlin and was married to the pop singer Tanja Lasch . They have one child together. In November 2017, it was announced that Marcell and Lasch had separated and filed for divorce.
- Fredi Malinowski (born March 11, 1971 in Croatia, before Fantasy as a solo singer under the name Freddy March on stage)
- March lives in Essen and is originally from Croatia . He has three children from a divorced marriage, of whom Sandro Malinowski took part in the 13th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar .
- In September 2017, the bisexual March made public his relationship with another man he married in late September 2018.
