Senta-Sofia Delliponti (born April 16, 1990 in Wolfsburg ) is a German singer , musical artist and actress . Since January 2014 she has been active under the stage name Oonagh ( ˈuːna ).

Life

Senta-Sofia Delliponti was born the daughter of an Italian and a Bulgarian and grew up in Gifhorn, Lower Saxony . Her father Maik Delliponti is a pizza maker , her mother Elena Delliponti is a music teacher . When choosing the name, the parents were inspired by the actress Senta Berger and the capital of her mother's home country, Sofia . Delliponti has a younger brother. She took part in music competitions and appeared on stage in the musical Jim Button . In 2006 she graduated from secondary school . From 2007 to 2010 she trained in acting and singing at the Charlottenburg Acting School in Berlin . She gave birth to a daughter in December 2017.

Career

On July 12, 2003, Delliponti had her first appearance on the casting show Star Search on Sat.1 . She took part in the Music Act category from 10 to 15 years old and was able to prevail up to the finals. Behind her colleague Daniel Siegert , she finished second on August 10, 2003.

As a member of Star Search - The Kids , her single Smile reached number 5 in the German charts on September 7, 2003. The successor single Mother , recorded together with Siegert, could no longer follow on from this success. She sang O Tannenbaum on the TV Allstars Christmas album .

In autumn 2006 Delliponti made her debut as a solo artist with the pop-punk single Scheißegal and reached number 69 in the German charts. Her 2007 single I see what you don't see is the theme song for the seventh season of the television show Big Brother .

In 2008 Delliponti took part in the ensemble of Spring Awakening in Vienna .

Until January 31, 2010, Delliponti was a member of the Tanz-der-Vampire -Ensemble in Oberhausen . By the fall of 2010 she was in Stuttgart in the same musical ensemble as well as cover provided the female lead.

From the beginning of December 2010 to mid-June 2013 as well as in August 2020 she was on RTL - Daily-Soap Good Times, Bad Times in the role of Tanja Seefeld.

Delliponti has been performing under the stage name Oonagh since 2014 and released her first album of the same name that year . She won the ECHO Pop 2015 in the categories Artist national Rock / Pop and Newcomer of the Year (national) . In 2015 her second album, Aeria, was released . In 2016 her third album Fairy Tales Ending Well was released, in 2019 her fourth album, Eine neue Zeit, was released, which is inspired by several trips to East and South Africa .
