Oonagh is the debut album of the German pop singer Oonagh , who previously worked as a musician under her real name Senta-Sofia Delliponti.
Creation and artwork
All the pieces on the album were written by external composers, only the song Hörst du den Wind was written by Oonagh as a composer. The songs were produced by Thorsten Brötzmann and Hardy and Mark. The album was released under the We Love Music label. On the cover of the album you can see a picture of Oonagh, standing against the backdrop of a rocky landscape. The photo shoot for this was carried out by Christian Barz and took place at the same time as the work on the music video shoot of Gäa , in Cape Town .
Publication and promotion
The first publication of Oonagh found on 31 January 2014 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland instead. On October 24, 2014, a deluxe edition of the album was released under the name Second Edition - Attea ranta . The regular album version consists of 13 new studio recordings, the deluxe edition consists of a total of 19 studio recordings.
In order to promote the album, Oonagh accompanied Santiano on her “ Mit den Gezeiten 2014 ” tour of Germany as a guest singer in the opening act one week after the album was released . In addition, there were live appearances in prime time during the big anniversary celebration on Das Erste and on Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel on ZDF .

In Oonagh is for an eleven-year-long music career to the debut album by German singer Senta-Sofia Delliponti. This is the first sound carrier that she released under the pseudonym "Oonagh". Even before the release of this album, she brought out five singles under her real name, all of which also hit the charts. None of these previously released singles are featured on this album.

All titles are written in German and Elvish . In an interview, Delliponti stated that all texts were first written in German and that individual sections were subsequently translated into Elvish. Musically, the songs move in the range of folk , pop and world music . For the songs Do you hear the wind , love and forget my not , Oonagh was supported by Santiano .

A week before the album was released, a music video for Gäa was released for promotional purposes. The official single release followed on March 21, 2014. Music videos and singles for Nan Úye , Oromé , Forget mine not (with Santiano ) and Eldamar were also released, all of which missed a chart entry.

Reviews
Daniel Køtz from CDstarts is of the opinion that the album offers fantasy for people who have only seen excerpts from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings (because they are boring and nerdy) and who, strictly speaking, you can turn on pretty much anything if you can, to feign aesthetic behavior even in the beginning. The album is the "ugly fat sack" in the elven forest inhabited by filigree beings. He only awarded two out of ten points. For the Second Edition - Attea ranta , he wrote that the "incense sticks-are-mystical-faction", " RTL2 -Hobby-Witches", but also - and experience has shown - Metalers, to whom one could have clicked the Middle Ages respectively Medieval rock, in all seriousness, belongs to the genre of folk metal , but was taken. A musical “Valinor” would never reach them anyway, but there is enough space on the seabed for everyone who refuses to work with a work like Oonagh or Oonagh Second Edition - Attea ranta . Again he awarded two out of ten points.

In January 2015, Oonagh was awarded The One of the Best . During the Echo Awards 2015 , Oonagh was awarded two echoes in the categories Newcomer of the Year (national) and Artist national Rock / Pop due to the great success of the album .
Charts and chart placements
Oonagh reached position three in the album charts in Germany and stayed in the top 10 for a total of seven weeks and 70 weeks in the charts. In Austria the album reached position 16 in 13 weeks. In Switzerland the album reached position 34 and was in the charts for a total of nine weeks. Oonagh placed 23rd in Germany on the 2014 album charts.
For Oonagh this is the first chart success in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In all three countries no album by Oonagh has been able to place longer in the charts, in Switzerland no album has been able to place higher in the charts.
