List of the top 10 albums in Germany
This article contains various information and statistics from the top 10 of the official German album charts ( GfK Entertainment ) since recording began on July 15, 1962. (All information up to December 31, 2019)
Database and information on the interpretation of the statistics listed
The evaluations of the German album charts presented here only describe artists who stayed in the top 10 of the German album charts particularly often or for a particularly long time. However, no sales figures or further commercial success can be derived from this. Monthly chart editions are included in the data collection with four weeks and half-monthly chart editions with two weeks.
From July 15, 1962 to November 15, 1976 the album charts were determined monthly, from December 15, 1976 to August 31, 1978 every six months. Thereafter, the sales figures for the albums within a week are used as a benchmark. The music market determined these figures until 1977, Media Control GmbH & Co.KG from 1977 and GfK Entertainment since 2013.
