Planet Jarre is a compilation album by the French musician Jean-Michel Jarre , which was released on the occasion of his 50th music anniversary under the Sony Music label on September 14, 2018.
Specialty
Planet Jarre was released in different versions as Planet Jarre 2 CD (12-page booklet), Planet Jarre Deluxe 2 CD (24-page booklet), Planet Jarre Box Set 2 CD + 2 MC + Download Code and Planet Jarre Vinyl 4 LP . Basically, the concept album contains 41 pieces of music from past Jarre albums or previous compilations as well as some unreleased pieces and pieces played during the last live performances. Some titles have been shortened.
Jarre divided the music into 4 categories: 'Soundscapes', 'Themes', 'Sequences', 'Explorations & Early Works'. Categories 1 and 2 are on CD1, 3 and 4 on CD2. The box set also includes 2 music cassettes and an access code with which the music can be downloaded digitally and 12 tracks as a 5.1 surround version from the Internet.
