If so, this is the 23rd studio album by German musician Peter Maffay . It was released on January 17th, 2014 on the Ariola label .
Emergence
Most of the album was recorded as a live band in Maffay's Red Rooster Studios on Lake Starnberg . The members of the Maffay band Pascal Kravetz , Peter Keller , Carl Carlton , Ken Taylor and Bertram Engel were involved .

On January 15, 2014 Maffay presented the new album in Munich's Zenith Hall. The live event was broadcast in 72 German cinemas (and recorded as a recording in 30 more on April 3, 2014). Two days later, If That’s So, was released. In addition to the regular CD, the album is also distributed as a double LP and premium edition with bonus material.

If so, it reached number one on the German album charts after its release , like 15 previous Maffay albums. It stayed there for two weeks.
Kai Butterweck from laut.de judged that if that's the case as a “solid German rock album”, on which it “crashes” quite a bit “ for Maffay standards” with rock songs like Never Was Better . He positively emphasizes the “power ballad” to the end that it is “a dynamic rocker, as if made for the rock radio breakfast program”. He criticizes certain deficits in the interplay of the instruments and the occasional kitsch content, but praises Maffay's distinctive voice, which gives sustainability to songs like Wer liebe und Wildnis .
