Revanche is the ninth studio album by Peter Maffay . The album can be assigned to German rock and blues rock .

History and style

In return , Maffay offers powerful rock 'n' roll . There are also guitar-heavy mid-tempo songs and some rock ballads . Love is forbidden, for example, is a fast, driving blues rock piece with guitar riffs , the text of which describes Maffay's vision of the future - at the beginning , Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is mentioned in the lyrics. The album sold a million times within the first two months, reached first place in the top ten long-playing records and stayed there for 33 weeks. The album stayed in the charts for over a year.

Peter Maffay said of the album: " Revanche was the most successful album of that time." He also said: " Love is forbidden , I still emphasize today, the lyrics of this song never really got old".
