aftermath

His successor at Karat was his son Claudius Dreilich in 2005 . Since Herbert Dreilich had secured the rights to the name "Karat" in 1998 and Dreilich's widow inherited the rights, the group had to rename itself from January 2006 and has been called "K ...!" A Berlin court ruled on June 19, 2007 that the rights to the name "Karat" belong to the members of the band. Since then the band has been calling itself "Karat" again.
