40 Years - Live from the Waldbühne Berlin is the fourth live album by the German rock group Karat from 2015. The live album was released as a double CD, DVD and premium edition (double CD and DVD).
content
As the only official anniversary concert for the band's 40th birthday, the concert was recorded on June 20, 2015 in the Berlin Waldbühne in front of over 12,000 visitors. The band was particularly concerned about the choice of location, not only because of the stage's history and popularity, but also because of their own memories. On September 10, 1982, the band played a nearly sold-out concert in what was then still divided Germany.
The set list next to the great successes of Karat includes (about Over seven bridges , The Blue Planet , Schwanenkönig or every hour ) and some titles rarely performed (such as puppets , music for a nonexistent film or on the seas ) and three titles of 2015 published album Soul ships ( Shall I free you , say since when , soul ships ).
The guests were Matthias Reim (vocals) with Schwanenkönig , Ute Freudenberg (vocals) in the evening atmosphere , Gregor Meyle (vocals and guitar) with Albatros and Shall I liberate you and the Rammstein drummer Christoph Schneider with Das Narrenschiff and Der Blaue Planet . However, Schneider cannot be seen on the DVD release for licensing reasons.
