Claudius Dreilich (born September 8, 1970 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German rock musician.

Claudius Dreilich grew up listening to the music of his father Herbert Dreilich . After leaving the GDR with his mother, stepfather and half-brother in February 1987, he trained as a hotel manager in Saarbrücken . In 1993 he trained as a retail salesman. Dreilich worked at Ikea from 1995 onwards , and his career rose steadily. Among other things, he was business area manager in a branch in Moscow and sales manager in Austrian branches.

Dreilich gained his first experience with music mainly through his father, who was the singer of the band Karat . He also attended a conservatory for seven years . Claudius Dreilich wrote the soundtrack for the documentary film With Ikea in Moscow . Dreilich had his first appearance with Karat in September 2000 in the Wuhlheide in Berlin for the 25th anniversary concert by Karat entitled Evening Mood .

When his father succumbed to cancer on December 12, 2004, his son took over and has been Karat's singer since 2005. He also plays guitar and creates compositions for the group. He presented his first song Für mich in April 2005.

Dreilich lives in Berlin-Rahnsdorf. He has been married since 2017. His maternal grandfather is Hans-Helmut Schnelle .
